What is a returning adult?
People return to college for a variety of reasons. Students may have started college and dropped out because of financial difficulties or the need to take care of small children. Others may have abandoned higher education because they were in the wrong program. Still others may be returning to school in order to acquire new skills that may lead to advancement in their current jobs. Or they may want to change careers entirely and are seeking the necessary knowledge and credentials.
Credit for work experience and prior learning
Returning adults are often in a good position to receive credit for their prior learning and work experiences. Globe University-Middleton awards college credit to students whose work or previous coursework is equivalent to required courses in their programs. Depending on the program, students may be able to earn credit for up to 75% of their courses and complete their programs quickly. Some our programs have different thresholds, so students should check with a representative to learn more about receiving credit toward their degrees.
Day, evening, full-time, part-time or online: your choice
Adult learners usually have jobs, families and hectic lives. Our Madison-area campus has a variety of options to help students for whom a standard college class schedule would never work. Many of our programs are available online. Online college is a great option for returning adults, allowing them to study late at night, early in the morning or during their lunch hours. Students may also take some classes online and others at our Middleton college. Students who believe they cannot add college to their busy lives have many options at Globe University.
