Credit for Prior Learning

Students at Globe University-Middleton may be able to complete their programs more quickly if they receive credit for work experience and prior learning. This can reduce the number of courses they must complete to earn their degrees or diplomas and save them time and money.

To learn more about our program of credit for prior learning and work experience, contact our Madison-area college. Call 608-830-6900.

How our credit program works

Students can apply training, education and work experience in several ways, which are outlined here:
  • Transfer of credit. Students may transfer up to 75% of required credits from other approved colleges (depending on the program). We evaluate credit requests in light of the academic quality of the transferring institution. We also consider the relevance of the transfer credits to the student’s Globe University program.
  • Military transfer. Military students (active duty, veterans and dependents) may transfer military training. They will need to provide a military transcript for evaluation.
  • Advanced standing and other tests. Students who demonstrate proficiency in a subject through AP tests, DANTES/CLEP tests or advanced standing tests administered by our education department may be able to receive college credit.
  • Professional training. Students may receive credit for documented work-related training or education.
  • Professional work experience. Students who have worked in progressively challenging positions may be able to obtain credit for this experience if it relates to their academic program

How we evaluate credit transfer requests

We evaluate each request for prior learning and work experience credit. Our education department considers the student’s educational program and the credits he or she is hoping to transfer. Students must submit requests for evaluation before they take a course for which they are seeking credit.

Save time, save money

Students will save time and be able to start their careers more quickly if they can reduce the number of courses they need to complete. And unlike some other schools, Globe University does not charge tuition or fees for course credits awarded through our credit transfer program.
