Careers for massage therapists

Massage therapists find opportunities in a variety of organizations, including the following:

  • Hospitals
  • Medical clinics
  • Private massage practices
  • Salons and spas
  • Corporate wellness departments
  • Exercise programs and gyms
  • Professional sports teams
  • Chiropractic centers

Graduates may sit for certification exams such as these:

  • The National Certification Exam of Therapeutic Massage (NCETM) provided by National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)
  • Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx) provided by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB)

They may be able to cover the cost of exam fees through our Professional Certification Scholarship.

Choose between a college degree and a technical diploma

Students can decide whether they wish to earn an associate degree or a diploma. The primary difference between the two programs is the length of time required to complete the programs. A student can complete an associate degree in massage therapy in 18 months and a massage therapy diploma in 12 months.

Programs developed with the help of experienced practitioners

We designed our degree and diploma programs with the help of a program advisory committee made up of experienced professionals in the massage therapy field. Committee members know from personal experience the skills and training that are needed for success. They ensure that our courses and requirements are up-to-date and include the latest developments in the field.
