  • Database administrator
  • Network administrator
  • Software developer
  • Computer support specialist

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the job outlook for IT professionals remains bright. Every organization needs employees who are able to adapt to new developments in the field. Our two-year degree program prepares graduates to become key employees.

Courses in our two-year program

Requirements for the associate degree in IT include the following:

  • 30 credits of general education classes
  • 32 credits of core classes covering topics that include:
    • Database
    • Communications
    • Operating Systems
    • Windows OS
    • Information Systems

  • 61 credits of electives that allow the student to focus on networking, security or software development.

Students may be able to complete their degree programs in 18 months of full-time study. And if they receive credit for prior learning or work experience, they can reduce the number of classes they need to take, saving themselves time and money.* Associate degree graduates may return to college to earn a bachelor’s degree in information technology. They will find that most of their associate degree credits will transfer smoothly to the four-year program.

Work while earning your degree

Students can complete our IT associate degree through our online division. They can take all requirements online, or combine online classes with classes at our Madison-area campus. Whichever they choose, they will find a strong support system designed to help them succeed at online learning. They will be able to complete assignments and review materials whenever and wherever they have Internet access.

Online college means that students can save time and money. They will have little or no commuting time, fuel expense or childcare costs associated with their educations. This is a great way to earn the credentials that may lead to a promotion or new job while continuing to work.
