Melissa Moss, Instructor

Career:
 
I have three years of experience teaching in Biological Sciences including Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology. I was a Research Associate at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology. I completed projects determining the mechanisms of infection of enteric pathogens published in the journal of Infection and Immunity and the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition.   Recently, I have held a position as Assistant Researcher in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Unit of Transplantation. I isolated cellular compartments (islets) from pancreas donors in a Clinical BioManufacturing facility for clinical transplantation and research. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I studied the gene and protein expression in islets and organs in response to physiological stressors.   
 
Fun facts about Melissa:
 
I love sailing on the Great Lakes. I spend as much time as I can during the summer and winter outside golfing, skiing, and swimming.
