Loans and grants for college students
Federal grant programs
- Federal Title IV programs
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
These grants are based upon financial need. Students (and their families, if the students are dependant), must complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) applications and other forms.
- Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
- National Science and Math Access to Retain Talent (SMART) grant
These grants are based upon financial need AND on academic criteria, such as GPA, credit load, and the focus of students’ college programs. They require students to submit the FAFSA forms.
- American Indian College Fund
- VA Benefits
Students who are enrolled members of a recognized tribe or military veterans may be eligible for these federal programs.
Federal loan programs
- Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
- Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
These loan programs include favorable interest rates or deferred repayment programs. They are based on need, and students or their families must file the FAFSA forms and sign promissory notes if awarded these loans.
Wisconsin state programs
The State of Wisconsin offers grant programs to residents. Students enrolled at Globe University-Middleton are eligible to apply for the following programs:
- The Indian Student Assistance Program provides undergraduate or graduate Native American students who are Wisconsin residents with grant money to apply to a program at any Wisconsin college or university.
- Wisconsin students with hearing and sight disabilities may qualify for the Wisconsin Hearing and Visually Handicapped Student Grant. The grant is need and disability based.
Private loans
Students may be eligible to receive loans through private lenders. A financial aid representative can advise you about the details of the loan programs available to students at our Middleton college.
Private scholarships
Students may qualify for scholarships or loans from private organizations. To be eligible, students must meet the requirements of the organization. These can include factors such as:
- Residence
- High school attended
- Religious affiliation
- Ethnicity
- Major or career focus
- Volunteer activities
